Slate Tile Entryway

I visited a friend in Texas and as usual when in different cities I visited model homes and fell in love with slate. The slate seemed to jazz up the entryways better than plain old concrete or even ceramic tile. So, I decided that my home needed some of that same nice welcoming touch and off to find slate I went. I first had to decide upon the layout, whether staggered which I chose or traditional. My front entry is more rectangular than square and the dimensions were such that there would be minimal waste with the staggered approach. I followed directions for laying slate and used a polyurethane glaze to complete and stood back and marveled over a job well done.
